Emma Goodhouse-Doll
My career as an artist spans approximately 50 years. My choices of media include painting, drawing, leatherwork, quillwork, and beadwork (probably my favorite).
My name is Emma Goodhouse-Doll/Čhik-ala Wiŋ, which translates to ‘Little Woman.’ I am an enrolled member of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe. I am one of the founding members of Native Artists United (NAU).
My career as an artist spans approximately 50 years. My choices of media include painting, drawing, leatherwork, quillwork, and beadwork (probably my favorite). A majority of my work is for practical purposes, therefore I do not enter art shows or anything competitive. However I enjoy teaching; I've taught all my children and grandchildren and will continue to teach the history, storytelling, and traditional ways of our people.
