During the process of learning I grew a beautiful passion to the point where I couldn't go a day without beading! …This is honestly the best job I could ever have!
I'm Taylor Wilkinson. I grew up in White Shield, North Dakota, located in the Fort Berthold Indian Reservation. I was raised by my grandparents most of my childhood. I currently reside in Mandan, ND. I am also a mother to two beautiful little girls.
I've been beading for about four years now but I've been a artist my whole life. I enjoy poetry, drawing occasionally, and interior designing. I was inspired, actually—my cousin always made beautiful earrings and one day I was just like, "I want to learn to bead." I was honestly so clueless where to even start. I messaged my cousin for some help and she gifted me her collection of beads and supplies. I looked up YouTube videos on how to bead, learned different techniques of beading from various artists on social media, and took beading classes. During the process of learning I grew a beautiful passion to the point where I couldn't go a day without beading!
Inspiration was everywhere, there were so many trends I wanted to keep up with, and so many colors of beads to work with. That's how I came up with the name Beadaholic. This is honestly the best job I could ever have! I love to work with Santo Domingo inlays, delicas, and 24k gold beads.
Not so many relatives bead in my generation. This is a beautiful connection to my culture, and something I would love to hold strong to my kids and family members.
